League Volunteers Needed 2019/20

We need help from you to cover the following important roles. If you can help providing a high level of service, reduce the time spend by existing Volunteers and develop the League by getting more clubs involved, please contact Tim on secretary@surreyprimaryleague.com

The roles have been split up to enable you to fulfil around your work and other roles in Football.

  • U7 Fixture Coordinator
  • U8 Fixture Coordinator
  • U16 – U18 Referee Coordinator
  • U11 – U15 Referee Coordinator
  • U7 – U10 Referee Coordinator
  • Fun Festival Coordinator
  • Futsal Coordinator
  • Website Manager

 

Vacancies

U7 Fixture Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:   1 hour a week

Responsibilities:

  • Create Seeded Groups for all U7 Teams (Average 3-4 Times per Season)
  • Load Groups on to the Full Time System (Average 3-4 Times per Season)
  • Create Fixtures on the Full Time System (using the automatic fixture scheduler) (Average 3-4 Times per Season)
  • Liaise with Team Managers/Club Secretaries on Fixture Questions via Email (Weekly)
  • Monitor results to ensure Seeding is correct (Bi Weekly)
  • Marry up Spare teams as a result of Postponements (Weekly but dependant on Postponements)

Assistance will be available from Brad, Tim and Conrad who have all fulfilled this role in previous seasons.

 

U8 Fixture Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:   1 hour a week

Responsibilities:

  • Create Seeded Groups for all U8 Teams (Average 3-4 Times per Season)
  • Load Groups on to the Full Time System (Average 3-4 Times per Season)
  • Create Fixtures on the Full Time System (using the automatic fixture scheduler) (Average 3-4 Times per Season)
  • Liaise with Team Managers/Club Secretaries on Fixture Questions via Email (Weekly)
  • Monitor results to ensure Seeding is correct (Biweekly)
  • Marry up Spare teams as a result of Postponements (Weekly but dependant on Postponements)

Assistance will be available from Brad, Tim and Conrad who have all fulfilled this role in previous seasons.

 

 

 U16 – U18 Referee Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:   2-3 hours a week

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with U16, U17, U18 Team Managers/Club Secretaries for Kick Off times via Email (Weekly)
  • Liaise with Referees to understand their travel area using the Online Form and Spreadsheet (One Off)
  • Appoint referees to U16, U17, U18 Fixtures (Weekly)
  • Advertise any fixtures without a referee to the Referee’s List
  • Update Full-time system with appointments (to automatically inform Referees & Team Managers) (Weekly)

Assistance will be available from Tim who fulfilled this role last season.

 

U11 – U15 Referee Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a week

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Referees to understand their travel area using the Online Form and Spreadsheet (One Off)
  • Export the Referee Requests from the SPL Website (Weekly)
  • Advertise fixtures appointment requests Referee’s List
  • Update Full-time system with appointments (to automatically inform Referees & Team Managers) (Weekly)

Assistance will be available from Tim who fulfilled this role last season.

 

U7 – U10 Referee Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a month

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Referees to understand their preferred clubs using the Online Spreadsheets (Monthly)
  • Connect the referee to their preferred clubs by email

 

Assistance will be available from Tim who fulfilled this role last season.

 

 Fun Festival Coordinator

The Fun Festival is the League’s U7, U8, U9 & U10 annual event involving 128 teams. We require a volunteer to focus on ensuring this event is organised and managed in line with the expectations of the member teams.

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a month

Responsibilities:

  • Book the venue and keep the venue contacts updated
  • Advertise the Fun Festival to member teams
  • Provide the team lists to the Fixture Coordinators who will put them into groups
  • Update teams with draft groups
  • Advertise any spaces which become available
  • Organise Event Volunteers
  • Contact appointed referees
  • Manage the event and tasks

 

Assistance will be available from Conrad, Tim and Brad who fulfilled this role last season.

 

Futsal Coordinator

The SPL Committee is looking into ways that we can organise a Futsal event for one or more age groups. This role will suit a person with an interest in Futsal and would like to see how Futsal can be included into the schedule.

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a month

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the SPL Committee members and interested clubs to explore options for a Futsal Event
  • Advertise the Event to member teams
  • Organise Event venue, equipment, referees and volunteers
  • Contact appointed referees
  • Manage the event

 

Assistance will be available from other Committee members.

 

Girls Football Coordinator

With the targeted growth in Girls Football by the English Football Association, The SPL is looking to add Girls only divisions to the SPL structure. We require a volunteer who is passionate about grassroots Girls Football to work with the SPL Committee to explore recruiting teams for the 2020/21 season.

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a month

Responsibilities:

  • Survey member clubs to understand the interest in Girls only divisions
  • Make a plan for launching the Girls League
  • Create adverts for the Girls only divisions
  • Circulate the Girls League to local Clubs
  • Manage the Club & Team applications

 

Assistance will be available from other Committee members.

 

Website Manager

The SPL website was redeveloped three seasons ago and is now at that stage it needs a fresh look and updated content. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of the website and make the changes required to keep it up-to-date to meet the needs and expectations of Clubs and Teams.

Average Hours Per Week:   2 hours a month

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the WordPress website, implement a fresh design and update as required
  • Propose changes to the SPL Committee
  • Work with League members to understand any missing content
  • Add new images and designs showing the highlight statistics and events
