League Volunteers Needed 2020/21

We need help from you to cover the following important roles. If you can help providing a high level of service, reduce the time spend by existing Volunteers and develop the League by getting more clubs involved, please contact  Andy on chairman@surreyprimaryleague.com

The roles have been split up to enable you to fulfil around your work and other roles in Football.

  • League Secretary
  • U16, U17 & U18 Fixtures Coordinator
  • U9 Fixtures Coordinator
  • U10 Fixtures Coordinator
  • U7 – U10 Referee Coordinator
  • Fun Festival Coordinator
  • Website & Communications Coordinator

 

Vacancies

League Secretary

  • Coordinate League Activities (Fixtures, Referees, Events, Finals Day) to ensure the SPL runs efficiently throughout the season
  • Advise League members by email through the secretary@ inbox
  • Ensure the League is sanctioned with Surrey FA
  • Oversee and coordinate the annual League AGM with the Chairperson
  • Manage the Club & Team Registrations
  • Report back monthly to the League committee
  • Proactively look at reducing the duties of the Secretary role but sharing duties with existing members or new roles

 

U16, U17, U18 Fixture Coordinator (This role could be split so please let us know if you can help by coordinating one or two but not three of the age groups)

Average Hours Per Week:   2-3 hours a week

Responsibilities:

  • Decide & Communicate Divisions
  • Load Divisions onto the Full Time System
  • Create Fixtures on the Full Time System (using the automatic fixture scheduler)
  • Collect Kick Off Times for referee appointing (Weekly)
  • Liaise with Team Managers/Club Secretaries on Fixture Questions via Email (Weekly)
  • Monitor results to and propose changes to divisions for the early season division review

 

U9 Fixture Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a week

Responsibilities:

  • Create Seeded Groups for all U9 Teams (Average 3 Times per Season)
  • Load Groups on to the Full Time System (Average 3 Times per Season)
  • Create Fixtures on the Full Time System (using the automatic fixture scheduler) (Average 3 Times per Season)
  • Liaise with Team Managers/Club Secretaries on Fixture Questions via Email (Weekly)
  • Monitor results to ensure Seeding is correct (Bi Weekly)
  • Marry up Spare teams as a result of Postponements (Weekly but dependant on Postponements)

 

U10 Fixture Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:  1-2 hours a week

Responsibilities:

  • Create Seeded Groups for all U9 Teams (Average 3 Times per Season)
  • Load Groups on to the Full Time System (Average 3 Times per Season)
  • Create Fixtures on the Full Time System (using the automatic fixture scheduler) (Average 3 Times per Season)
  • Liaise with Team Managers/Club Secretaries on Fixture Questions via Email (Weekly)
  • Monitor results to ensure Seeding is correct (Bi Weekly)
  • Marry up Spare teams as a result of Postponements (Weekly but dependant on Postponements)

 

U7 – U10 Referee Coordinator

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a week

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Referees to understand their travel area using the Online Form and Spreadsheet (One Off)
  • Export the Referee Requests from the SPL Website (Weekly)
  • Advertise fixtures appointment requests Referee’s List
  • Update Full-time system with appointments (to automatically inform Referees & Team Managers) (Weekly)

 

Fun Festival Coordinator

The Fun Festival is the League’s U7, U8, U9 & U10 annual event involving 128 teams. We require a volunteer to focus on ensuring this event is organised and managed in line with the expectations of the member teams.

Average Hours Per Week:   1-2 hours a month

Responsibilities:

  • Book the venue and keep the venue contacts updated
  • Advertise the Fun Festival to member teams
  • Provide the team lists to the Fixture Coordinators who will put them into groups
  • Update teams with draft groups
  • Advertise any spaces which become available
  • Organise Event Volunteers
  • Contact appointed referees
  • Manage the event and tasks

 

Website & Communications Coordinator

The SPL website was redeveloped three seasons ago and is now at that stage it needs a fresh look and updated content. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of the website and make the changes required to keep it up-to-date to meet the needs and expectations of Clubs and Teams.

Average Hours Per Week:   2 hours a month

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the WordPress website and update as required
  • Propose and make changes agreed with SPL Committee
  • Work with League members to understand any missing content areas
  • Add new images and designs showing the highlight statistics and events
